Description

Your hand in mine From Carol Rocamora from the letters of Antón Chekhov and Olga Knipper.

Address Santiago Sánchez.

A beautiful love story. Only this one is special because it deals with two unique people in exceptional circumstances. Anton Chekhov met actress Olga Knipper at a reading at the Moscow Art Theater. First they were friends, then lovers, and finally husband and wife. In the barely six years that their relationship lasted, more than 400 letters were exchanged. Through them, Carol Rocamora recreates, in an exciting and fun way, the story of two beings who feel, yearn for and miss each other and, at the same time, we witness the creation of the great works of the Russian author. A play that the British Theater Guide in London has described as moving and full of fine humor. About Anton Chekhov Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) was a Russian doctor, writer and playwright, considered one of the most important writers of short stories in the history of literature and the author of four masterpieces of universal theater: The Seagull, Uncle Vania, The Three Sisters and The Cherry Garden. These last two, written expressly for the Moscow Art Theater, directed by Nemirovich-Dánchenko and Stanislavsky, might never have seen the light without the presence in his life and his love by Olga Knipper (1868-1959). Here are 12 reflections by Chekhov on life, theater and art: Brevity is the sister of talent. In the person everything must be beautiful: his face, his clothes, his soul and his thoughts. Love is a personal scandal. Smart men want to learn. The others, teach. Happiness does not exist. The only thing that exists is the desire to be happy. Literature is my legitimate wife and medicine my lover. When I get tired of one, I spend the night with the other. There is something beautiful poetic and moving when one person loves more than the other and the other is indifferent. Nobody likes being loved by the normal person in us. What is serious cannot be beautiful. The works of art are divided into two categories: those that I like and those that I don't like. I don't know of any other criteria. It is only during difficult times that people come to understand how difficult it is to own their feelings and thoughts. You ask me what life is ... It's like asking what a carrot is ... A carrot is a carrot, and little else can be said. About the Company L'OM-Imprebís is a Spanish theater company with a long history, which has staged a wide repertoire that ranges from the great texts of universal dramaturgy (Galileo, by Brecht; Quijote, by Cervantes; Calígula, by Camus, or Uncle Vania, by Chéjov) to shows such as the best Monty Python or Imprebís sketches, which, premiered in 1994, became the pioneering improvisation show in Spain. His works have been premiered in 21 countries, highlighting international festivals such as Elbaimpro festival (Italy), Versalles (France), Salvador de Bahia Cultural Market (Brazil), Havana International (Cuba), Manizales (Colombia), Theater Festival Latino (USA) or Festival de las Dos Orillas (Morocco), and theaters such as the Cervantes (Buenos Aires), the Vertex of the Museum of the Nation (Lima), the Queen's Theater (New York), the Gunston Arts Center (Washington) or the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Theater (Bogotá).
