Description
Andy Medina explores the pre-Hispanic fretwork, (a religious element that appears throughout the American continent) in “Salpicadero Cavalier” one of the many works exhibited in “Todos me amarán. Art of Mexico today”. He reproduces Mitla's stepped fretwork on the dashboard of a Chevrolet Cavalier from the eighties that the artist inherited from his grandfather. Juxtaposing the pre-Hispanic motif and a symbol of the modern era, he suggests that the ordinary cultures of Mexico, despite being diminished and stripped, are still present. Exhibition from December 15 to February 12, 2023 Book your guided tour
