Description

On October 14, the GAUDÍ exhibition opens to the public at CentroCentro, which proposes an approach to the person and work of the eminent Catalan architect, one of the most outstanding figures in international architecture and art. The exhibition, which can be visited until February 5, 2023, shows how the originality of the forms, the ornamentation, the chromaticism, the richness of the symbols and their inspiration in nature are elements that fascinate at first glance . But then, with a more attentive look, other aspects that underlie his work are discovered and that show us the great architect; They show us that behind the form is the rationality of his construction system, that his architecture is a prodigy of inventiveness, constructive solutions and innovation, the fruit of his own personal genius, but also of the study and of a meticulous and enormous work to which he dedicated all his life. Plans, drawings, models, furniture, architectural elements, ceramics, vintage photos... bring us closer to his main projects, from the Cooperativa La Obrera Mataronense to the houses Vicens, Botines, Calvet, Batlló and Milà «La Pedrera», passing for the temple of the Sagrada Família or his projects for Eusebi Güell. The more than 150 works and materials on display come from the most important collections of the Catalan genius: Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, Càtedra Gaudí. Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB). Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Design Museum of Barcelona, Casa Batlló, Casa Vicens, Historical Archive of the Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya, Barcelona City Council: Contemporary Archive and Municipal Archive of Barcelona, Maresme Regional Archive, Palau Güell – Diputació of Barcelona, Museu del Modernisme de Barcelona, Fundación Obra Social de Castilla y León (FUNDOS) and Fundación Maria José Jove; and from some private collections. The exhibition is organized and produced by Evolucionadorte in collaboration with CentroCentro, and is curated by Charo Sanjuán.
